  • Full payment must be made at the time of registration.
  • Emergency medical forms will be available online starting in May and must be completed no later than one week prior to the start of Camp.
  • Campers must be entering the grade level that is designated for the Camp.
  • You will receive a confirmation email immediately after completing your registration. Please check your Spam if you do not see this in your Inbox. Refunds and Cancellations

  • Camps with low enrollment are subject to cancellation. Discovery Place will make this determination three weeks prior to the start of a session. If a Camp is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and given the opportunity to select another Camp (based on availability) or receive a refund.
  • If you need to cancel any summer camp enrollment—for any reason—you must notify us in writing by 5:00 P.M. on May 1st, 2023, to receive a refund of camp tuition—minus the cancellation fee.
  • The cancellation fee for a week of full-day camp is $80 and a week of half-day camp is $40. Cancellation fees are per session and per child.
  • Cancellation requests, for any reason, made after 5:00 p.m. on May 1st will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Missed days of camp are not eligible for a refund and cannot be applied to any other camp session.
  • Cancellation requests must be emailed to  camps@discoveryplace.org with the subject line “Cancellation Request”. In the body of the email include the full name of the person who made the registration and the order number/s (eight-digit number on your registration confirmation).  If you have multiple camps booked on the same order, specify the week/s and the corresponding grade level/s of the camps you are wanting to cancel.  You will receive an email confirmation once the cancellation has been processed; this could take up to two business days.

Extended Care

  • Extended Care of 8:00-9:00 a.m. and 4:00-5:15 p.m. may be added to Full Day Camps only (based on limited availability and provided minimum enrollment is met) for $75 per week.
  • You may register now and will be notified in May if we are unable to offer Extended Care during your Camp week.
  • During Extended Care, children will participate in games and other activities as planned by the Extended Care Team.
  • Please note that Extended Care will not be an option for Half Day Camps.

Wait Lists

  • When a camp session sells out, you may join a Wait List.
  • When a space in a camp session becomes available, we will contact the first person on the list by phone.  If we do not reach a live person, who is ready to reserve the available camp at that moment, then we will immediately move on to the next person on the list.
  • To be added to a wait list send an email to  camps@discoveryplace.org with the subject line “Wait List”.  In the body of the email list the full name and phone number of the person you want us to contact and the Location (Science, Nature, or Huntersville)/Week/Grade Level of the wait list/s you wish to join.

Reschedule Requests

Requests to change your registration to a different week will be assessed based on availability.

  • Reschedule requests must be made at least three full weeks prior to the start date of your originally scheduled week of camp and at least two weeks prior to the start date of the newly requested camp.
  • Reschedule requests must be emailed to  camps@discoveryplace.org with the subject line “Reschedule Request”. In the body of the email include the full name of the person who made the registration and the order number/s (eight-digit number on your registration confirmation). If you have multiple camps booked on the same order, specify the week/s and the corresponding grade level/s of the camps you are wanting to reschedule and new week/s you would like to choose. You will receive an email either confirming the reschedule has been processed or letting you know if we are unable to process it based on capacity or policies.
  • Please note that the cancellation policy will apply if a reschedule is not possible and you are unable to attend your currently registered week of camp.
